ABOUT THE TOOL
About UploadsBuddy
UploadsBuddy was created to help people check whether an image or PDF matches the technical rules shown by an upload form, then prepare a supported copy when a safe fix is available.
A clearer way to prepare a file
Upload forms often specify several independent conditions: a permitted format, a maximum file size, image dimensions, a page count, or another measurable property. Remembering each rule while switching between a portal and a file editor can be tedious. This tool brings those checks together in one browser workflow. You enter the limits that the destination actually states, select a file, and review a readable report rather than relying on a filename or an assumed preset.
How checking works
The app identifies supported files from their contents, then reads the properties needed for the rules you selected. Images can be checked for format, dimensions, and byte size. PDFs can be checked for their file type, size, page count, page geometry, and certain encryption details. Each result is reported separately so a passing format check does not hide a failing size check. If a browser cannot inspect a fact or a rule is not supported, the result stays inconclusive instead of being treated as a pass.
Supported file preparation
When the selected requirements are clear and a compatible operation exists, the tool can prepare a separate image or PDF output. Image operations may convert a supported image format, resize dimensions, apply a reviewed crop, or adjust JPEG quality toward a requested size. A crop is shown for review because it changes framing. PDF size reduction is limited to a structural rewrite; it does not rasterize pages or promise a smaller document. If an operation is unavailable or cannot meet the target, the app reports that rather than presenting an unverified result as ready.
Output is checked again
Preparing a file is not the final check. The generated copy is inspected independently and validated against the requirements again. The original remains unchanged, and the download is offered only when all applicable supported checks pass. This does not prove that the destination will accept the file: portals can impose content, identity, legal, or other rules outside the app’s technical checks. Review the output yourself and follow the current instructions on the service where you intend to submit it.
Designed for local processing
Selected file contents are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to an application server. Inspection, supported image transformations, PDF work, and ZIP generation run on your device. The app does not require an account. Requirement profiles and the chosen color theme are saved in browser storage; profiles are only stored when you choose to save them, and they do not contain uploaded files. The optional webpage translation widget sends visible page text to Google only when you choose a language; selected files are not sent for translation.
Limits and careful use
The tool supports JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, and PDF workflows, but it does not provide every possible conversion or document-editing feature. Very large files may exceed available device memory. PDF rewriting can affect signatures or unsupported features, so it requires review and the source should be retained. The app does not determine official requirements, assess photo identity or composition, verify resume meaning, flatten interactive PDF fields, or provide legal advice. Check special instructions with the relevant agency, employer, court, school, or other destination before relying on a prepared file.
Our approach
UploadsBuddy is built around transparent checks, explicit limits, and preserving the source file. Curated presets identify their sources and caveats; they are starting points, not substitutes for the destination’s current instructions. The app is designed to explain what it could verify and what remains uncertain, so people can make an informed decision before downloading or submitting a file.
