FILE UPLOAD GUIDE

Compress an image to 200 KB

Some application forms set a strict maximum upload size. Prepare an image for a 200 KB limit, then check the generated file before you use it.

Requirement to check

Image file · maximum 200 KB

Use the exact limit and format from the destination upload form. This guide does not replace or invent portal-specific rules.

Why upload forms set this rule

A portal may reject a photo or scan that exceeds its upload cap, even when the image looks correct. The limit can vary by form, so use the exact value shown by your destination site.

How the file is processed

The image engine encodes JPEG candidates at several quality levels, inspects each candidate, and selects the best verified result under the limit. It does not assume a quality setting will produce a particular size. If the target cannot be reached, it reports failure and keeps the original untouched.

Validation before download

The output is independently inspected and checked against the 200 KB maximum. A success state is shown only when every supported required check passes; unknown or unsupported checks cannot count as a pass.

Privacy

Files are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. The original image remains unchanged. Re-encoding may remove embedded camera metadata.

Frequently asked questions

Will every image reach 200 KB?

No. Some images cannot be reduced to that size without unacceptable quality loss. The tool reports the verified output size and does not claim success when it remains over the limit.

Can I choose the required output format too?

Yes. Add the format shown by your upload form, such as JPG, to the requirement before processing.

Does compression change my original?

No. A successful fix creates a separate output file; your selected original remains unchanged.
